In 1997, while in the throes of breastfeeding a one year old baby I discovered my partner was HIV positive. This was a powerful catalyst for my spiritual journey. A turning point, a spinning point, a point of no return point. At 24 years old, I woke up. I believed in miracles, I believed in the power of energy healing, I believed in the infinite power of the universe. I began searching for what resonated. I found the number of a Reiki Master in a little community directory and booked an appointment. I had the most powerfully mind blowing experience with her. Sitting in a chair, in a little upstairs attic above a small crystal and book shop, holding onto a kyonite crystal I merged, spun and danced with God and definitely wanted more of that! If I wasn’t aware of people downstairs in the shop I would have burst out into ecstatic laughter! There was no way your cells could not heal with that immensity of energy I experienced pulsing through and around me! I know that if there ever was HIV in my blood before that moment, this is where it left. I soon after that began my Reiki Attunements.
After my first Kundalini Yoga class in 1999 I knew that this was something I needed to teach. I had an incredibly strong sense of coming home during this class. My soul deeply recognised, benefited, sang and expanded with this practice. I have been practising and teaching ever since.
What is Kundalini Yoga?
“Yoga is a science of reality and an experiential proof of the sacredness of all life” Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini Yoga is known as the Yoga of awareness. It is a powerful transformational practice that works on all layers and levels of your being. The word yoga means union. Kundalini means coil. It is our inherent potent creative energy that lies coiled and dormant within. With this practice we awaken this dormant energy. Once awakened we align with our highest creative potential and purpose. We release energetic and physical blockages that obstruct the natural flow of our energy. Through this practice we align, balance and integrate mind, body and soul. This is achieved through practising specific kriyas ( a specific series of yogic exercises that have a specific effect) the kriyas incorporate asana (postures) pranayama (conscious breath work) mantra ( sacred sound currents) and meditation. This practise is incredibly healing.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of hands on healing. It is highly subtle. The healer essentially opens themselves to channel infinite healing life force energy, that flows through them. We make use of specific symbols that act as keys that open doors and potentizes the healing. No one healing session is the same.
This form of healing stems from Japan. The founder was a Japanese Buddhist, Mikao Usui. Rei, essentially means God/Infinite wisdom. Ki, means life force energy.
I teach regular daily classes, private sessions, workshops and retreats.
Everything I teach is that which has been essential, transformative and healing in my life.
